The idea is simple, yet effective. Thousands of school uniforms end up unwanted and unloved when a child has grown out of them or when the end of the academic year arrives. Most of this uniform is in excellent condition and with schools now having logos on their uniforms, the cost is increasing. I set up an event, open to anyone in the community to come along, bring an item of old school uniform in good condition and swap it for something bigger, new school etc. all for free. This event proved so popular, that I have now extended the events to include the whole of Manchester and Trafford and will now be held around Christmas time, Easter time and of course, the summer to try and keep up with the rate that children grow.
